Best Locations to Visit in Orchha
On an island in the Betwa River sits Orchha Fort. Apart from its beautiful setting, the fort has more to offer. It has several temples and palaces. Jahangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, and the well-known Rai Parveen Mahal are the three most significant palaces visible here. The palace's multi-story balconies offer breathtaking vistas. The Raj Mahal is one of the Orchha fort's oldest historical structures.
Jhansi Fort, built more than 400 years ago, has endured several trying periods. Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo constructed the fort on Bangra, a steep hill. The enormous fort, also known as Rani Jhansi Ka Quila, is situated in the heart of the city and extends over 49 acres. It is one of India's finest defended regions. Sculptures in the fort's museum provide a comprehensive picture of Bundelkhand's heritage.
Wildlife Sanctuary in Orchha:
Despite being just 46 square kilometres in size, the Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a vast variety of wildlife. The sanctuary has been a popular tourist site in Orchha ever since it opened in 1994. Tigers, leopards, langurs, jackals, sloth bears, blue bulls, monkeys, and peacocks are just a few of the creatures that may be found here. Due to the roughly 200 kinds of birds present, the area is a treat for bird enthusiasts. Kingfishers, woodpeckers, owls, jungle bush quail, black swans, and geese are just a few of the migratory species that stop by the area. The refuge is more enticing due to the presence of the River Betwa in the vicinity.
